Publication Scheme
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 requires all public authorities to adopt and maintain a Publication Scheme.
A Publication Scheme is a guide to the information that is routinely published by the Council. It includes all forms of information from a bound book or brochure to a mass produced leaflet and web based information.
The purpose of the Publication Scheme is to ensure that a significant amount of information is available without the need for a specific request. The Publication Scheme provides details of the type of information held (known as 'classes' of information), the format in which it is held, how the information will be published and whether members of the public will be charged for the information.
How much do publications cost?
The publications in this Scheme are all free unless otherwise stated. Most of the information included in the Scheme is available on the Council's website and internet access is provided free of charge in the Council's public library, although normal printing costs will apply. The Council reserves the right to make reasonable charges for requests that involve printing, photocopying and postage.
The Publication Scheme may be inspected free of charge at the offices of the Council and at the Central Library, Tolhouse Street, Great Yarmouth and at Gorleston Library, Lowestoft Road, Gorleston.
A paper copy of the scheme may be obtained free of charge from the Information Officer.
Copyright
Great Yarmouth Borough Council claims copyright on all documents which it produces. The supply of these documents under Freedom of Information does not therefore give the person or organisation who receives them an automatic right to reuse the documents in a way which would infringe copyright, for example, by making multiple copies, publishing and issuing copies to the public.
Brief extracts of any material included in this Publication Scheme may be reproduced under the fair dealing provisions of the Copyright Designs and Patents Act 1988 (sections 28 and 29) for the purposes of research, private study, review and news reporting.
Where the document is a third party document reference should be made direct to the third party to ascertain any copyright restrictions.
