Business Networks

Great Yarmouth is home to several networking groups that can support your business. Further information on the networks can be found using the links below:

ANGLE-GY

angle

In the 1990s, the Borough Council’s Economic Development Unit facilitated the setting up of the East Anglia Electronics Liaison Group (ANGLE), a loosely affiliated group of electronics companies that joined forces to undertake joint training and promotional activities.

In more recent times, ANGLE evolved to become the collective voice of the advanced engineering element of the Shaping the Future’s Norfolk Engineering Sector Group. The development has led to the creation of two further ANGLE groups based in Kings Lynn and Norwich both modelled on the ‘Great Yarmouth’ concept.

Great Yarmouth has a long history of providing electronic technology to a wide range of applications including: the automotive industry, IT, defence, telecoms and the engineering sectors. This capability has helped to develop a significant cluster of electronics expertise within the town, and hence made the group quite a success.

In practical terms, the Great Yarmouth ANGLE group consists of 20-30 companies of all sizes with an involvement in engineering, manufacturing or electronics. The group meets once a quarter to share best practice, learn about support on offer, training available, and general developments and opportunities in the Borough. Membership of ANGLE is free, members with sufficient facilities take it in turns to host meetings and meetings are pretty informal. The current chairman is Laurence Brooks from Performance Plus Partnership and the Secretary is Stephanie Pimlott of Great Yarmouth Borough Council.
