Enterprise Zones

Great Yarmouth has been awarded Enterprise Zone status by the Government providing a golden opportunity to build on the town’s strengths in the energy sector and take advantage of the huge growth potential offered by this sector to create thousands of new jobs.

In Great Yarmouth there are two sites:

• South Denes - ideal for industries requiring use of the deep-water outer harbour

• Beacon Park – Great Yarmouth’s prestigious green field business park

Advantages of the Enterprise Zone include:

• Business rate relief for up to five years (in accordance with State Aid legislation)

• Simplified planning regulations to assist in new and expanding premises

• Superfast Broadband

The Enterprise Zone is made up of six distinct sites in Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. Further information on the bid and maps of the site can be found on the New Anglia website

The simplified planning regulations extend beyond the boundaries of the Enterprise Zones in the South Denes and Beacon Park, through Local Development Orders which cover the Beacon Park area and a further 77.8 hectares of land in the South Denes. Follow the link to find out more about the LDO.
