Statement of Accounts
All Councils have to publish an annual Statement of Accounts by a specified date. The Accounts show how money has been spent in the previous financial year and also gives details of the Council’s assets and liabilities.
When the Accounts are finalised and have been approved by the Council, they are advertised to enable the public to examine them. During the inspection period, people may look at the accounts and ask questions about them or challenge them.
