Environmental Health Officers protect the public and employees within the Borough for Health and Safety, alongside the Health and Safety Executive

.

The Environmental Health team deal with retail and wholesale premises, warehouses, hotels, restaurants, residential care homes, sports and leisure premises, places of worship, hairdressers and other consumer services.

Registration
Businesses no longer need to register for Health and Safety with their Local Authority.

Inspections
All business enforced by a Local Authority can be inspected by the Environmental Health team either on a routine risk rated basis or during topic work where the team will focus on a specific area of Health and Safety such as slips and trips.

Accidents
Some accidents must be reported to your Local Authority, if you are unsure please contact us using the details at the top of this page.
On receipt of an accident notification the Environmental Health team will investigate with the primary aim of ensuring subsequent accidents do not happen again.

Complaints
From time to time the Environmental Health team receives complaints concerning Health and Safety issues. If you wish to make a complaint please contact us using the details above.

Advice
