Food Business Registration

Did you know that if you have recently become or intend to become the proprietor of a food business your interest in the business must be registered with Environmental Health? You can do this by simply completing the attached form and either emailing to environmental health on health@great-yarmouth.gov.uk

Or sending a copy to Environmental Health using the contact details to the right of this page.

There is no charge and you cannot be refused registration.  Periodic renewal is not required, although proprietors are responsible for notifying certain changes to Environmental Health for example if the type of food business you run changes or the manager of that business changes.

Receipt of your registration form will not be acknowledged unless you provide a stamped addressed envelope.  Proof that the form has been received may alternatively be gained by a certificate of posting.  

It is a legal requirement to register a food business with your local authority and you could be prosecuted if you do not do this. All food business registrations are held in a public register may be inspected at Maltings House.
