Linking the town centre with the seafront

The main shopping area is set in the historic core of the town around the traditional Market Place incorporating Deneside, Market Gates shopping mall and King Street.

Regent Road is a traditional seaside shopping street which links the town centre with the seafront and has about one hundred small shops, popular with tourists.

Market Row and Broad Row form an historic link from the market place to Hall Quay.

The inteGREAT scheme provided resources to improve the historic buildings and environment as well as providing significant lighting schemes to stimulate the evening economy and create a safer place for people to visit. Additional CCTV cameras throughout the car parking, shopping and leisure areas makes it a safer environment. The pedestrianisation of the rest of Regent Road provides a safer and more defined route between the seafront and the town centre.

inteGREAT also provided signage and information on what is available in Great Yarmouth, helping to show people where to go and what to do - helping to promote it as a vibrant destination to work, live and visit.
