Flyposting
Flyposting,where advertising or banners are attached to public furniture or private property without consent,is an offence and both GYBC and Norfolk County Highways have powers to deal with it.
Under the Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2003 any person putting up signage can be issued a £80 fixed penalty notice.Environmental rangers patrolling the borough are interested in anyone seen doing this and would appreciate any information such as dates, times, car/vehicle registration details with regard to persons seen putting up signs.
The Town and Country Planning Act 1990, section 224, covers the displaying of advertisements in contravention of its regulations.Where a person or business advertises illegally formal action can be taken against them by the Council's Planning Enforcement Team.
The Highways Act 1980, section 132, makes it an offence to affix items to highway structures. Signs attached to street furniture and the like can be removed immediately and further action can be sought.
