Structure

The Financial Services Division provides financial and accounting information to Members and officers of the Council.

The section is made up of 5 main areas which are as follows:

   •    Financial Management
   •    Financial Reporting
   •    Accounts Payable and Receivable
   •    Risk Management
   •    Internal Audit

Main Activities

The main activities undertaken are;

   •    Provision of financial advice
   •    Provision of monthly financial monitoring information to management
   •    Leading and co-ordination of the revenue and capital budget setting process
   •    Preparation and maintenance of the Accounts
   •    Co-ordination of grants administration
   •    Supporting Service managers to develop, implement and monitor Service Plans
   •    Provision of financial skills training for non finance managers
   •    Input to multi-disciplinary teams to improve and develop service initiatives
   •    Provision of Treasury Management services
   •    Provision of Internal Audit
   •    Provision of Creditors function

If you wish to make an insurance claim relating to Council housing or contents insurance please contact Carl Slater in our Housing Rents Section on 01493 846170.

If you have a non-housing related claim, or have any general queries relating to insurance please contact Pam Holmes on 01493 846212 or email pvh@great-yarmouth.gov.uk.  Please note that if the claim relates to the highway or paths adjacent to the highway it should be directed in the first instance to the Norfolk County Council Highways Division.
