Many organisations and foreign governments require persons receiving a pension from them to produce a life certificate from time to time confirming they are still living and resident in the Borough.

Foreign governments in particular ask for certification at the local Town Hall by an authorised local government official. Several of the Council's legal officers are authorised to sign such certificates and do so free of charge.

If you require this service, please make an appointment and bring with you the form of certificate issued to you and proof of identity (preferably a passport).

Appointments can be made at Reception in the Town Hall or by telephoning the Legal Practice Manager on 01493 846316.
