Spillages on roads can take many forms and the nature of the spillage will govern the response.

The local Police should be notified of all spillages using 999 in the event of an emergency or use the non emergency number 01953 424242.

Norfolk County Council are the Highways Authority and should be contacted in every event on 01493 728606 or email north.area.pt@norfolk.gov.uk they are also responsible for highway drainage.

For chemical or hazardous spills the Fire Service should also be notified on 999.

Where material is likely to enter the underground drainage system notify Anglian Water on 08457 145145.

In the event the spillage may affect the local environment (air pollution, contamination of land, pollution of water courses) both The Environment Agency on 08708 506506 and Great Yarmouth Borough Council Environment and Health should be advised.
