Every week, a caretaker: -
Checks the basic safety and security of housing communal areas such as lighting, drainage, gully covers, walls, overflows, fire hazards etc. and reports faults to the local housing office;
Removes all weeds etc. from paved areas, excluding weed chemical treatment,
Checks and reports communal repairs to the local housing office,
Checks and monitors the standards of the cleansing and grounds maintenance contractors, reporting service delivery problems to Housing Environmental Services Manager,
Reports abandoned cars to Norfolk Police for removal through the car clear scheme,
Calls out emergency services where necessary,
Reports all fly tipping incidents to the contractor for removal.
Each caretaker also cleanses all external communal areas twice a week, normally Monday and Friday.
