An environmental action day on Suffolk Road resulted in 21 tonnes of rubbish being brought out by residents for disposal. Organised by the Borough Council with GYB Services following discussions with the Halfway House Tenants and Residents association, the action day was a huge success.

Everything from three-piece suites to garden waste was left at special collection points, including 15 fridges, eight washing machines and nine cookers. It took six hours to clear everything before a mechanical sweeper was brought in to leave the area spic and span.

GYB Services offers a regular collection service for bulky items. To find out more call 01493 846846.
