What the Borough Means to Me... Competition Winners
A competition held by Great Yarmouth Borough Council and TMS Media challenged local residents to submit photographs that portrayed ‘What the Borough means to me’.

Takeaway Posed Significant Risk to Public Health
An inspection of a local takeaway presented such a significant risk to public safety that the premises was immediately closed by the Borough Council’s Environmental Health Department using a Hygiene Emergency Prohibition Notice.

A former Manager of the Seabreeze Restaurant, Marine Parade, Great Yarmouth who was prosecuted recently by Great Yarmouth Borough Council under food hygiene regulations has been successfully prosecuted again, this time for dumping waste.

At the recent Christmas Fayre Recycling Officers from Great Yarmouth Borough Council, along with one of our volunteer Master Composters, were on hand to help with queries and offer valuable advice on recycling & waste.

What a Picture
A competition held by Great Yarmouth Borough Council and TMS Media challenged local residents to submit photographs that portrayed ‘What the Borough means to me’. The competition, which closed mid November, was such a success that the entries are to be displayed in the Town Hall foyer from Tuesday 11 December until Friday 21 December 2007.

155 Days Smoke Free
Monday December 3 saw 155 smoke free days in Great Yarmouth. Great Yarmouth’s Smoke Free Workplace Coordinator Ivan Clark, employed by the Borough Council to offer guidance to businesses, talks about the new legislation, which generally appears to have been accepted by businesses and customers alike.

Focus Group to Discuss Great Yarmouth Cemeteries
A Focus Group has been set up consisting of local Police and Great Yarmouth Borough Council’s Environmental Rangers, Crime Reduction Team and Bereavement Services and also GYB Services Grounds Maintenance and Street Cleansing Teams.
