Search Planning Applications

How to Use the Application Search

If you need for search for an application, the following hints may help.

Entries can be typed in either lower case or upper case.

If you want to display the entire list of applications, then leave all the fields empty and just click on the Search button.

Remember the system will take a little while to return all of the results.

The search screen will look like this

Picture : 'Application Search'

Reference:  This is for the GYBC planning application reference number.  For example, 00/00/0000/F (this number is put on all correspondence concerning the application).

Location:  Type in the address if you know it or the area (such as Hemsby).  This will pick up outline applications to build on land that, technically at least, may not have an address yet.  Try the term “land adjacent” to pick up outline applications too.

Postcode:  A full postcode or the first part of it (for example, NR30) will produce a result.  Typing in just the second half of a postcode will not work (for example 2QF).

Applicant:  Enter the name of the person or company concerned.  For example, typing in Great Yarmouth Borough Council will return all applications for the organisation.

Parish:  This is the parish the application falls into and is accessed by a drop down menu.  For example, West Caister or Filby.

Note:  When the search fails to find what you are looking for, it will display a message “No row returned”.  Try entering different search information.
