Neighbourhoods and Communities

Great Yarmouth Borough Council is one of 18 National Community Empowerment Champions and as such we are committed to providing opportunities for local residents to get involved.

your-say

Following the success of the Comeunity Neighbourhood Programme for South and Central Yarmouth we have now extended the Neighbourhood Management approach to the Magdalen, Shrublands & Elmhurst Court area and Cobholm, Southtown and Halfway House area.  If you are a local resident in one of these areas and wish to join in with activities and get involved, then please contact the Neighbourhood Managers, Julie Woods on 07825724481 for the Magdalen area or Holly Notcutt on 01493 846444 or 07825732052 for the Cobholm area.

Residents can also get involved by not only coming forward with some ideas but also making decisions through Great Yarmouth Borough Council's participatory budgeting scheme. If you live in any of the neighbourhood areas named below or are over 50 years old then we are looking for project ideas as each area has £10,000 to spend on worthwhile projects that bring different communities together and improve your neighbourhood.
