Code of Conduct

What you can do if you think a Borough or Parish Councillor has behaved badly;

All Borough and Parish Councillors are subject to a Code of Conduct. If you think a Councillor has breached the code you can complain to the Borough Council’s Standards Committee. The Committee will decide whether the complaint needs investigating, or whether other action is appropriate. Ultimately sanctions can be imposed on a Councillor who has been found to have breached the Code.

The Standards Committee includes three independent members, and is chaired by one of the independent members.
