Mike Taylor lives with his wide Brenda at 81 St George's Road in Great Yarmouth. He has been a Councillor in the Central & Northgate area of the town since 1979.

He is a former Mayor of Great Yarmouth and a Director of the Great Yarmouth Preservation Trust which has been central to the setting up of the Time and Tide Museum and refurbishment of the Bretts Building in Howard Street. A former member of the Outer Harbour Steering group, he is especially proud of the recently constructed East Port which will bring new jobs into the local economy.
