In the event’s fourth year at Great Yarmouth, the borough is hosting 24 men’s and 10 women’s teams for trophies and points for qualification in the national beach volleyball finals in September.

“Spectators are more than welcome,” said Marie Hartley, Great Yarmouth Borough Council’s Sport and Leisure Manager. “In fact we are even erecting free stadium seating around centre court to ensure everyone has a great view of all the action.

“Central beach has been selected to be a pre-training camp for 2012 volley ball teams, when we are hoping to attract an international team to Great Yarmouth.”

The weekend’s finals will be played between 2 and 4pm on Sunday, with the Mayor, Councillor Tony Smith presenting trophies to the winners.
