Residents are being offered a free gift-wrapping service in exchange for their views and opinions on the local community. Great Yarmouth Borough Council’s Neighbourhoods and Communities Team will be on hand at Great Yarmouth Market Place for the late night shopping event on December 16th.
“We took to the streets for the Gorleston Christmas light switch-on last Friday and armed with gift wrap and bows the team set up a stall to relieve Christmas shoppers of the burden of wrapping their own Christmas presents” said Holly Notcutt, Neighbourhood Manager for Cobholm, Southtown and Halfway House
“Although, this was a bit of festive fun it also gave us a change to talk to local people about issues in their areas. The information will be used to help the development of two new neighbourhoods boards – one covering Magdalen, Shrublands and Elmhurst Court and one covering Cobholm, Southtown and Halfway House. It will also support the continued development of the award winning South Yarmouth ‘ComeUnity’ programme, ensuring that local priorities are met with local solutions.
“We hope the Town Centre event will be just as successful so we urge residents to come along and have their say and get their gifts wrapped too.
“All ideas and suggestions, alongside concerns and priorities will be taken into account and form the basis of neighbourhood plans and projects.”
