Mardi Gras Arrives in King Street
From Venice to Vilnius, Rio to Rotterdam, as a festival it may go by different names, but whether its Mardi Gras, Pancake Day or Fat Tuesday it’s great way to celebrate international food, dance, music and customs.
The King Street Mardi Gras, organised by SeaChange Arts, will showcase work from some of their recent projects alongside professional street performers and some specially commissioned games and activities. “It’s a great opportunity to celebrate the growing multicultural nature of Yarmouth,” said SeaChange Chief Executive, Joe Mackintosh, “Mardi Gras is a rich in pageantry, colour and customs and is celebrated across the globe. We’ll be looking to recreate just a little of that magic right here.”
Gt Yarmouth brings its own unique perspective to the global celebration with entertainment, workshops, food and plenty of fun! Yarmouth’s King Street comes alive to global, rhythms delicacies and traditions for one day only… join in!
The event takes place on Tuesday 16 February from 3.30-8.30pm on King Street around St George’s Chapel. FREE entry
