Have You Ever Thought About Becoming A Councillor?
Great Yarmouth Borough Council is running a seminar to give people an insight on how to become a Councillor.
“Councillors play a key role representing local people and communities and work in partnership with other organisations to provide essential services” said Barry Stone, Deputy Leader of the Council.
“There are no special qualifications required and councillors come from all walks of life. Elected members at Great Yarmouth have a variety of ‘day’ jobs ranging from a director of a local company selling paper rolls to running a seafront tearoom.”
So ask yourself
Do you care about the Borough that you live in?
Would you like to make a difference to your community and contribute to building an effective and vibrant local economy?
Would you like to make a difference to the quality of other people’s daily lives and prospects?
Have you ever wanted to improve public services?
If the answer to any of the above questions is yes, why not attend a Seminar at Great Yarmouth Borough Council, Town Hall on Monday 22 March 2010 from 6.30pm until 9pm to find out how to become a Councillor. Please register your interest in the first instance with Mr Robin Hodds, Member Services Manager and Scrutiny Officer, Town Hall, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, NR30 2QF or Phone: 01493 846325.
