Make May Day Special at the Civic Ball
Make your May Day special is the invitation from Great Yarmouth’s outgoing Mayor Councillor Terry Easter by joining him and the Mayoress at this year’s civic ball.
Half the tickets for the ball, to be held on May 1 at the Ocean Room, Gorleston, have already been sold.
The black tie dinner is open to all and helps bring the Mayor’s time in office to a close as his successor will take up the robes on May 11.
This year’s event is the first time a big band sound has been introduced to entertain guests.
The Jonathan Wyatt Big Band will provide sounds from an era which celebrated Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington and Count Basie.
Proceeds from the evening go to the Mayor’s charities - Centre 81 which provides day care in Great Yarmouth, and the Alzheimer’s Society.
"It has been a very memorable year for my wife Jenny and myself,” commented the Mayor. "The civic ball is an excellent way to bring it all to a close.
"Many businesses, individuals and private parties have already booked tickets, but there is still room for more people so please come and join in the fun.”
