Once again Great Yarmouth Borough Council in partnership with GYB Services is offering parents, grandparents or carers the opportunity to plant a tree to celebrate the birth or adoption of a child.
The Trees for Life ceremony is due to take place on Thursday, November 26th at 2.30 pm on the south side of Bure Park, Caister Road and the Mayor, Councillor Tony Smith, will be in attendance.
Tree and landscape officer Patrick Tabor said: “Parents, grandparents and others are welcome to come and watch or take part in the tree planting. If they are not able to attend, their child can still be part of Trees for Life by registering in advance of the ceremony.”
If you have had or adopted a baby between December 2008 and November 2009 you can commemorate this. There is the opportunity to register in advance by obtaining an application form now but this year parents can also just turn up on the day as forms and information will be handed out prior to the planting.
The meeting place for Trees for Life is the car park nearest to Caister Road in Bure Park at 2pm
