On Wednesday (Oct 28, 10.00am to 4.00pm) residents are invited to come along to an event organised by the Borough Council being held in Great Yarmouth Market Place to have their say on Council Services.
This is the second time that the Council has organised such an event and Cllr Barry Coleman, Leader of the Borough Council sees the events as an ideal way for residents to express their views.
"We still think Great Yarmouth, town and borough, is very much on the up, but we want to know what residents think," said Cllr Barry Coleman, Leader of the Borough Council.
“A huge amount has happened in recent years to make the borough cleaner, greener and safer, and the prospects for the future are even better through continued regeneration, conservation and the up turn in our economy. We see this event as a chance to get out there and talk to the people of Great Yarmouth and hear what they have to say.
The event will also show our partnership working and people will be able to find out more about working neighbourhood funding – which is being used to develop a range of initiatives aimed at supporting people to improve their skills and to find a job.
However, we can not be complacent and we know that despite our progress there still is a great deal more to do so I am urging everyone to say what they would like to see happen over the next few years so that people can really be proud to come from Great Yarmouth.”
There is plenty to do for the children who can put pen to paper and let their imaginations run wild with the children’s Christmas card competition. The winner design will be used for the Mayor’s official Christmas card!
The Mayor of Great Yarmouth, Mr Tony Smith will open the event at 10.00 am. There will be a chance to add their comments to a ‘graffiti wall’, while staff will be on hand to answer queries and hand out information.
There will also be the chance to find out more about initiatives such as Safer Neighbourhoods.
