Estate Management & Tenancy Services
consulting and involving tenants in respect of service delivery and decision-making, both informally and through formal tenant participation structures, and developing policies and practice to reflect their needs and aspirations
maintaining estates in good order through an effective caretaking service and grounds maintenance and cleaning contracts
working with residents and other partners to promote social cohesion, community safety, health improvement and improvements in educational and training attainments
providing support, advice and guidance to tenants on all aspects of their tenancies and taking enforcement action when necessary in respect of breaches of tenancy conditions and anti-social behaviour
carrying out improvements and refurbishments to dwellings and their environment to ensure their sustainability, meet tenants’ expectations and, as a minimum, achieve the decent homes target
maintaining the housing stock in good condition through cyclic and planned maintenance programmes and the responsive repairs partnership contract
rigorously managing the Housing Revenue Account revenue budget and capital programme.
achieving value for money in the procurement and management of contracts and partnerships and in the efficient and effective delivery of in-house services and maximising income
By homelessness prevention and tenancy sustainment, providing open and fair access to affordable housing by choice based lettings, improving the health and well being of older people, reducing the number of vulnerable households in non-decent private sector housing and enabling housing associations to produce additional affordable housing. Also by contributing to reducing health inequalities within the borough.
Provide housing related support to older people living in sheltered housing.
24/7 monitoring of Yare Care community alarms and sheltered housing warden call alarms.
24/7 emergency response to alarm calls from tenants in sheltered housing.
Handling out of hours requests from the public for a wide range of Council services.
