Take Away Owner Fined By Courts
A Gorleston Kebab shop owner was fined £4000, at Great Yarmouth Magistrates Court on Friday 2nd October, for failing to comply with two Hygiene Improvement Notices.
Mr Farhad Mohammed Amin the proprietor of Kings Kebab 64 Cliff Hill Gorleston pleaded guilty to not implementing hygiene procedures and protocols and also for not ensuring that his staff were trained properly.
Great Yarmouth Borough Council’s Environmental Team had previously issued improvement notices which Mr Amin had not complied with.
Kate Watts Commercial Team Manager “I am extremely pleased with the level of fines imposed by the court. Environmental Health always follows a graduated approach to enforcement and is based on risk and previous compliance history. In this instance this business failed to comply with Food Hygiene Improvement Notices and was fined in accordance with this failure, clearly showing how seriously the courts take food safety contraventions.”
Mr Amin whose home address was given as Malakoff Road, Great Yarmouth, fined £3000 for not implementing HACCP procedures and a further £3000 for not ensuring that staff were adequately trained. Both fines were reduced to £2000 in light of Mr Amins early guilty pleas and full costs of £480 were awarded to the Council.
Concerns about premises which may be endangering public health can be reported to the Environmental Health Team on 01493 846478.
