Local Development Framework
January 2012
Great Yarmouth local development framework update
Core strategy: The Borough Council is currently preparing its well advanced core strategy for 'submission' later in 2012. This document is expected to be available for public comment in early spring 2012. We anticipate the core strategy to be fully adopted by 2013.
Great Yarmouth waterfront area action plan (AAP): This AAP aims to regenerate significant brownfield riverside sites in the heart of Great Yarmouth and was made available for public comment until 17 December 2010 as a regulation 25 further preferred options' document. It is currently undergoing revisions in light of the responses received during the consultation period and is anticipated to be made available for further consultation at its proposed 'submission' stage in late spring/summer 2012.
Other development plan documents (DPDs) updates: The development control policies and site specific allocations DPDs are currently being reviewed and are likely to be published as regulation 25 'further issues and options' documents later in 2012. We are continuing to receive sites that wish to be considered for inclusion in the site allocations process. Any sites submitted should include a clearly labelled map outlining the proposed site together with a covering letter outlining the proposed development. If required, Ordnance Survey maps can be purchased by clicking here.
In addition, the Norfolk waste local plan and the Norfolk minerals plan are being replaced by the Norfolk waste and minerals local development framework, all of which are available under useful links.
