Sustainability Appraisal

Sustainability Appraisals (SA) are required for each Development Plan Document (DPD) to ensure that due consideration is given to the social, economic and environmental implications of the document.

The Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report
The role of the Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report is to identify and highlight the sustainability issues within the borough and use these to produce a sustainability framework against which the emerging LDF can be assessed. Representations from statutory consultees have been recieved and the Scoping Report has been updated accordingly.  To view see further information.

Sustainability Appraisal of the Core Strategy
A Sustainability Appraisal Report for the Core Strategy Issues & Options and Preferred Options has also been produced utilising the framework established in the Scoping Report. The Sustainability Appraisal highlights the likely significant economic, social and environmental effects of the policies and proposals in the plan. To view see further information.

Sustainability Appraisal of the Site Specific Allocations and Development Control Policies Issues and Options DPDs
A preliminary Sustainability Appraisal (Stage B) has been prepared for the Site Specific Allocations and Development Control Policies Issues and Options DPDs. This report is part of Stage B in the SA process and is therefore limited in scope as it is not the full report.
