One popular attraction at Great Yarmouth’s Play day Event is ‘Snug’ - a piece of mobile play equipment.

‘Snug’ being made up of large colourful loose parts enables children to let their imaginations run wild as they play.  Great Yarmouth Borough Council through its Big Lottery funded Play Development Project purchased a ‘Snug’ as a way to address some of the barriers to Play identified in a Borough wide survey undertaken in 2008.

A number of the Borough’s schools accepted free loan of the ‘Snug’ enabling thousands of children to have their opportunities to play enhanced for a time.

Over Summer 2010 the Snug travelled to play areas across the borough, both rural and urban with some very creative uses for it being found.  Most popular was bouncing, building dens and jumping from one item to the other.

The Snug is available to loan for free play opportunities providing supervision and transport is available.
