Road Spillages

Spillages on roads can take many forms and the nature of the spillage will govern the response.

The local Police should be notified of all spillages using 999 in the event of an emergency or use the non emergency number.

For chemical or hazardous spills the Fire Service should also be notified on 999.

Where material is likely to enter the underground drainage system notify Anglian Water.

In the event the spillage may affect the local environment (air pollution, contamination of land, pollution of water courses) both the Environment Agency and Great Yarmouth Borough Council Environmental Health should be advised.

GYB Services may be able to assist with street cleaning.
