Garden Waste

Please check your Brown Bin calendars for collections over the Christmas Period and for Bank Holiday arrangements

No more trips to the tip!

Great Yarmouth's Garden Waste Collection scheme makes gardening easier.  The scheme offers a year round fortnightly collection of your garden waste from your brown wheeled bin.

Existing customers will shortly receive an invoice for £37.50 to renew their garden waste collections from end of March 2012.   There are several ways to pay which are listed on the back of the invoice.  Please remember to have the invoice available when making payment as the reference number will need to be quoted.  You will need to take the General Invoices option to make your payment if you would like pay online.

If you would like to join the Garden Waste Scheme there are two alternatives.

If you would like your collections to commence in April  you can pay £48.50 which will cover your new bin plus 24 collections.  Alternatively you can pay £50.88 which will start your collections in March (26 collections plus your bin).

You can make payment using the following link www.e-paycapita.com/gyarmouth

Take the Other Payments option, Garden Waste Collection New Customers Only and choose which option you would like to sign up to.

Please note that your new brown bin will be delivered one day after the cut off date and your collections will start in the following 2 weeks depending what area you live in.  A calendar will be delivered with your bin.

Composting

Norfolk Master Composter Program

Master Composters act as ambassadors for home composting in their local community. Composting kitchen and garden waste at home is an environmentally friendly way of dealing with biodegradable waste. The program started in 2006 and to date has trained 150 volunteers in the county (of which 80 are currently active) who spread the word by encouraging  friends, neighbours, colleagues and Norfolk residents in general to compost at home. There is to be a foundation training course this year on Thurs 22nd and Friday 23rd March 2012 at Ecotech in Swaffham.
