What I Can Recycle
Each home in the scheme will receive two 240 litre wheeled bins, a green bin for recyclable materials and a grey bin for rubbish.

So what goes in each bin?

Please put all these items in you Green Recycling Wheelie Bin LOOSE and not bagged:
OK - Paper - Newspapers and magazines, junk mail, letters and computer paper etc
OK - Cardboard - Cereal or other food boxes, egg boxes, toilet rolls etc
OK - Plastic Bottles* - Milk, squash, bleach, or shampoo bottles, etc (Please rinse)
OK - Metal Cans - Steel or aluminium food or drink cans etc (Please rinse)
OK - Empty Aerosol Cans - Deodorants, air fresheners etc*
Please do not crush your cans or bottles.
*Please remember to put plastic bottle tops in your Grey Rubbish Bin!
Please DO NOT put these items in your Green Recycling Bin. The following items can be put into either your Grey Rubbish Bin or recycled elsewhere:
X - No General Rubbish.
X - No Glass (Please take these to a bring bank).
X - No Textiles (Please take these to a bring bank or charity shop).
X - No Plastics other than Bottles (Yogurt pots, Food Containers, Film/Bags etc need to go in your grey bin)
X - No Shredded Paper or Wrapping Paper
X - No Aluminium Trays
X - No Food Trays
X - No liquid based food and drinks cartons (fruit juice cartons, pouring yoghurt cartons).
All other rubbish should be bagged up and placed into your Grey Rubbish Bin.
Each bin is emptied on an alternating weekly basis and residents are asked to ensure their bins are ready for collection by 6.30 am. Crews sometimes have to vary their routes and this can mean that they arrive at your address at different times by having your bin ready by 6.30am this will ensure that your bin is emptied
If your green bin has not been emptied it could mean that it has items in it that cannot be recycled through the wheeled bin collection service. These items must be removed before your bin will be emptied.
