Regeneration Funding Programmes
Great Yarmouth continues to benefit from a number of regeneration funding programmes.
The South Denes and the Cobholm & Lichfield areas of the town were designated Single Regeneration Budget (SRB) areas. The aim of an SRB was to enhance the quality of life of local people in areas of need through the development of local partnerships. Both of these are schemes are now complete.
inteGREAT was a capital investment programme, designed to improve the special characteristics and features of Great Yarmouth town centre, the heritage and seafront areas which will contribute to the improvement of the local economy.
The Runham Vauxhall area has attracted lottery funding for improvements and the Residents Association have come up with a list of priorities.
St George’s Park and the surrounding highway underwent a £2.5 million pound transformation with funding from the Cleaner, Safer, Greener initiative and Norfolk County Council. The Park won a Green Flag Award for 2008 which flies from the newly installed flagpole at the entrance to the Park.
More information on these funding programmes can be found by following the links in the right hand navigation on this page.
