Contractor's Role
Great Yarmouth Community Housing use contractors to maintain the following located in communal housing areas:
Grass Areas
Cut every 22 days between March and November with Warden Service Areas cut every 18 days and Middlegate every 8 days. Each area adjacent to a footpath is edged up every four years.
Shrub Beds
Prunded and tidied annually between October and Apri. They are litter picked and a Health & Safety check is carried out to remove any overhang, every eight days between June and September with the Middlegate area between March and September
Hedges
Are pruned twice a year in May and October
Trees
Regularly inspected for safety and structural issues with remedial work being undertaken on a risk basis
Spraying/Sweeping
All car parks, drying areas, footpaths and paved areas are sprayed three times a year in March July and October. The same areas are also swept when issues are identified. The Middlegate area is swept fortnightly
Fly Tips
Are investigated and removed within seven days of being reported
Window Cleaning
Windows in stairwells that are not accessible from a standing position are cleaned bi-monthly
Communal Wheeled Bin Areas
The bins are cleaned / deodorised and the storage areas are swept annually between April and May
