Lift and Internal Stairwell Procedures
Every week between each full cleaning cycle a caretaker undertakes the following: -
Inspects for defects, fire hazards caused by possessions left in the area and repairs, then reports them to the local Housing Office;
Sweeps out if litter / rubbish has accumulated.
Every six weeks (eight weeks over Xmas/New Year period) a caretaker undertakes the following full cleaning cycle:
Inspects for defects, fire hazards caused by possessions left in the area and repairs, then reports them to the local Housing Office;
Checks and cleans all lights, reporting any not working to the local Housing Office;
Cleans all windows he is able to reach considering HSE guidelines;
Sweeps out;
Washes all floors and banisters;
Hoovers all carpets (where applicable).
A caretaker also revisits and cleans if a health and safety incident has occurred.
