Lift and Internal Stairwell Procedures

Every week between each full cleaning cycle a caretaker undertakes the following: -

• Inspects for defects, faulty lights, fire hazards caused by possessions left in the area and repairs, then reports them to the local Housing Office;

• Sweeps out if litter / rubbish has accumulated.

Every six weeks (eight weeks over Christmas/New Year period) a caretaker undertakes the following full cleaning cycle:

• Checks and cleans all lights, reporting any not working to the local Housing Office

• Cleans all windows he is able to reach from a standing position

• Washes all floors and banisters

• Hoovers all carpets (where applicable)

A caretaker signs the stairwell notice board after work has been completed and cleans if a health and safety incident has occurred.
