The Yare Care Community Alarm Service is a 24hr monitoring service, particularly for people on their own, people with a disability or those at risk, which provides reassurance and assistance appropriate to the level of need of the user. This could include

Contacting the appropriate service depending on the query
The Yare Care Alarm itself is a special unit which is linked to the client’s telephone line and will automatically dial the 24hr control centre when the pendant is pressed. The pendant can either be a neck worn or wrist worn. All you need is a working modern telephone point with an electric power point on the same wall.
The information which you have provided is held on our computer and will automatically link to your call providing us with your name, address, nominated contact details, medical details and any other important information. This will enable us to deal with your call in a more efficient matter.

Am I eligible? - Anyone living in the Great Yarmouth Borough Council area can apply for the service.
Can I still use my telephone? - Yes What happens in a power cut? - The alarm has a battery back-up so it will still function for a period of time
What if I cannot speak or hear? - The alarm will tell us who and where you are so we can contact someone to help you
Will the alarm work anywhere? - The alarm will work within the home environment
What if I can’t provide any emergency contacts? - In that event that there is no-one suitable to be a key holder we insist that there is a key safe in place before the alarm can be installed
How can I apply? - You can apply for one by either telephoning 01493 330369 or 01493 852784 and providing a few details which include your name, full address including postcode, telephone number and most suitable appointment time (am or pm).
You could also e-mail with the same information and a member of our team will contact you for an appointment. You can also use the above contact information for a demonstration of the equipment.All alarm and telephone calls are monitored and recorded.
