Yare Care Alarms
Yare Care Community Alarm provides a 24-hour response service, particularly for people on their own, people with a disability, or those at risk.
If you need help, press your alarm or pendant and this will alert our staff.
Information which you have provided yourself is held on our computer, which helps us to help you.

Trained staff are there to respond to your call by:

• giving reassurance.

• calling a member of your family, or a friend.

• contacting your doctor.

• contacting the emergency services or sending a member of our staff if your nominated person to contact is not available.

• 24-Hour Help & Reassurance

Help is always at hand if you:

• want to remain independent at home.

• are recovering from an illness or operation.

• need help with an injured partner.

• fall.

• become ill.

• have an accident.

Am I eligible?
Anyone living in the Great Yarmouth Borough Council area can apply.

What do I need to join the service?
A modern telephone point and electric socket close together.

Can I still use my telephone?
Yes.

How quickly will my call be answered?
Within seconds, our staff will be speaking to you through the alarm.

What if I cannot speak or hear?
The alarm will tell us who and where you are, so we will send someone to help you.

Will the alarm work anywhere?
It can be used in your house or garden.

Yare Care Charges (from 5th April 2010)

Equipment can be purchased, please ask for details.

Charges are invoiced quarterly for rental and annually for monitoring only. Charges for council tenants are added to their weekly rent.

Charges are subject to review annually from 1st April.
