Witch hat will the Mayor chose for his Halloween Party? The date for your diary is October 31 - and its time to book a date with the Mayor of Great Yarmouth Councillor Terry Easter to celebrate Halloween.

His worship and his wife Jenny are inviting witches, warlocks and pumpkins to a charity party where fancy dress is the order of the day.

To be held at the Grosvenor Casino, Marine Parade, the evening is planned to raise money for the Mayor’s charities the Alzheimer’s Society and Centre 81 which provides day care in Great Yarmouth.

“We want the evening to be a lighthearted, and affordable bit of fun,” said the Mayor. “Tickets are only £15 each and there will be a hot and cold buffet and live entertainment.

“This is one of the times of the year when you can create a costume that can look completely bizarre and make people really smile.”

Entertainment on the night will include singer Roy Shenton.

The casino will give a £5 matchplay voucher to all ticket holders, so if anyone wants to try a little flutter in the casino they will have the opportunity. An extra £5 matchplay voucher will be given to everyone turning up in fancy dress.

For those not wanting to don a Halloween costume the dress code is black tie.
