Norfolk Celebrating Talent

The Norfolk Sports and Cultural Foundation sets out to celebrate Norfolk's talent, raise the aspirations and achievements of people across Norfolk - harnessing interest and

local funding generated by the Olympian ideal.

It is the aim of the Foundation to support the county's most promising young sports people and artists aged 14-25 with grants of up to £5,000 a year to 2012, helping them develop their talent on a national or even international stage - and in return acting as role models for young people throughout the county.

The Foundation, launched with a four year annual grant of £30k from Norfolk County Council, aims to support the county's rising stars in sport and culture with significant funding to help them train, learn, be better equipped and better supported in their area of expertise.

Further, the Foundation will offer annual one-off grants for people of all ages, to 'make it happen'. Grants to a maximum of £1000 will be made to support veteran athletes, coaching qualifications, visits to sporting or artistic events or buy necessary equipment.

The Foundation's ambition is to offer a total fund of up to £100,000 per year accessing further contributions from local authorities and business partners.

80% of the fund will support the Rising Stars programme and 20% will go into 'Make it Happen'.
