Putting Other People at Risk
Fly-tippers have had no qualms about putting other people’s health at risk by dumping waste which contained asbestos on the driveway of a private house in Hemsby.
The incident, which happened on Wednesday March 28, was carried out by two men driving a N registered panel van - of the Transit/LDV type, towing what is described as a scruffy trailer with two different number plates.
“The waste was dumped at 9.30am in Barleycroft,” said Environmental Health Officer, Jeremy Marsh. “This type of material needs to be handled correctly to ensure it doesn’t cause harm.
“Having it disposed of and the investigation to date has cost local tax payers £250.
“Please can anyone help us to find these people. They are described as being white, middle-aged, one tall and the other shorter with a round face.
“A call to me on 01493 846678 from someone who witnessed the incident or has any information could help towards a successful prosecution. All information will be treated in confidence.”
