Dog Owner Falls Foul of the Law
Allowing his dog to foul a public area has cost a Great Yarmouth man £330.
Anthony Torr, of Southown, did not clear up after his dog when it fouled a grassed area on Marine Parade, Gorleston, in April 2006.
A member of the public contacted Great Yarmouth Borough Council’s Environmental Health Department, which used a DVLA search to discover the owner of the vehicle reported to them.
Mr Torr was fined £250 with £80 for the Council’s cost of bringing the case.
“We are very pleased that this has been a successful outcome, and hope that it encourages other members of the public to contact us when they see incidents such as this or problems like fly-tipping,” said Environmental Ranger Pauline McConnachie.
“With reliable information we were able to trace the person concerned and brought the prosecution.”
