Fly-Tipping on Caister By-Pass
For immediate release
PR 235
22 August 2006
Great Yarmouth Borough Council’s Environmental Health team is asking for help to apprehend fly-tippers who dumped building rubbish on Caister by-pass on the evening of Tuesday August 15.
“We need the help of anyone who was driving along Caister by-pass and witnessed this happening, as we are treating this as a crime scene and are looking to prosecute the culprit,” said Head of Environment and Health John Hemsworth.
“We cleared away at least a ton of rubbish which included fence posts, and parts of a wooden building.
“If the Council can get together enough evidence we will be taking the person who did it to court.
“So if anyone noticed a vehicle pulled up at the side of the road and the driver throwing rubbish out, please call 01493 846478 and tell us exactly what they saw.”
Anyone wanting to dispose of DIY construction waste should call Caister tip on 0844 800 8004 for advice, or a licensed waste collection company listed in Yellow Pages.
For further information call Head of Health and Environment John Hemsworth on 01493 846458.
