Ivan is a Smoke-Free Zone

Ivan Clark has joined Great Yarmouth Borough Council to help local businesses to become smoke-free zones, in line with legislation due to come into force next summer.
As Smoke-free Workplace Co-ordinator, he will be part of the Environmental Health department until September 2007.
The legislation stipulates that enclosed and partially enclosed public places and workplaces must become no-smoking areas.
This will have a huge impact on all working environments, but in particular to the hospitality industry - including pubs, clubs and hotels.
Ivan will be contacting as many businesses as he can over the next few weeks. As part of this he will be sending out a newsletter explaining the issues involved. It will contain a questionnaire asking what support businesses want, to help the Council gauge the services it needs to provide.
“If your business receives a questionnaire please fill it in and return it to us,” said Ivan. “Or if you do not have one sent to you, but would like to take part please call 01493 846478 to request a copy.”
Ivan’s post has come through funding from the Great Yarmouth Local Strategic Partnership, and the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund.
