Great Yarmouth will host a National Volleyball event for the first time this August bank holiday weekend as part of the Volleyball England Beach Tour 2006.

Organised by the Volleyball England Beach Commission governing body, the event hopes to attract many top level volleyball players from across the country. The two day event on 26th & 27th August will be held on Yarmouth’s Central beach alongside the Britannia Pier. Spectators are most welcome. Find out more...

In addition, to promote and encourage volleyball participation, the Council will be erecting volleyball nets on Central Beach throughout the summer months to enable people to try the game themselves. Councillor Bert Collins – Chairman of Greater Yarmouth Tourist Authority said ‘we are pleased to welcome this National volleyball beach tour to Great Yarmouth. This is set to be an exciting event encouraging sports and volleyball participation within the Borough. Such events are important to us in strengthening the events programme within the local area and building Great Yarmouth’s reputation as a ‘Festival’ destination.’
