The first Great Yarmouth Borough Cultural Directory was officially launched this week by the Great Yarmouth Cultural Partnership at its meeting, held at the top of the Atlantis Tower, Great Yarmouth, courtesy of the Greater Yarmouth Tourist Authority and the Atlantis Resort.

The Directory production is the result of joint working between the defined Cultural areas of Sport, Arts, Heritage and Tourism.

Since the launch of “The Star of the East”, the Borough’s Cultural Strategy last year, the Cultural Partnership was established to drive forward the aims and aspirations to support and encourage cultural development within the Borough. One of the Partnership’s first tasks was to compile this Directory which seeks to provide a comprehensive and informative guide to cultural opportunities throughout the borough of Great Yarmouth.

The launch of the Directory was assisted by local councillors Barry Stone and Bert Collins. Deputy Council Leader, Barry Stone, as the Cultural Partnership’s past Chairman; and Bert Collins as the Council’s new cabinet member for Tourism, Culture & Enterprise who has now taken over the role of Cultural Partnership Chairman.

The directory will be widely available from the Tourist Information Centre, town hall, local libraries, leisure facilities, GP surgeries, museums, schools and colleges
