Building Work Underway at Gorleston Crematorium

Visitors to Gorleston Crematorium over the next few weeks will notice that changes are underway.
Following a successful refurbishment last November, when seating capacity was increased from 74 to 116, the next phase of improving facilities is under way.
An extension is being built at the front of the building to provide a new vestry, an enlarged waiting room and new reception will be built as well as an office.
The work began on June 12 and is scheduled to be completed by mid October.
All local funeral directors have been informed of changes of times to services and will be pleased to help bereaved families.
“We apologise to the public for the changes in service times, and that there will not be a waiting room until the work is completed,” said Bereavement Services Manager Linda Bigg.
“The work is necessary and, once completed, will add to the facilities provided for families and mourners who attend the crematorium.”
