PR 200
19 June 2006
Each week The Council’s DERT squad gives two roads in the Borough a face lift – and next week it is a return to Walpole Road, Great Yarmouth and Lower Cliff Road, Gorleston.
The Dynamic Environmental Response Team (DERT) is operated by GYB Services, which keeps the Borough clean for the Council, its residents and visitors.
A visit by the team sees pavements weeded, gutters cleared, pavements washed and gullies swept.
The operation is heralded by residents being informed with cards pushed through their doors 24 hours before the DERT squad calls. Residents are asked to move their cars to allow heavy cleaning equipment in.
DERT will be in Walpole Road between 9 and 10am, and Lower Cliff Road between 10.30 and 11.30am on Friday June 30. As both roads are so long it takes two visits to complete the job.
DERT is part-funded by the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund.
