Great Yarmouth has the World Cup at its Feet

Families can enjoy World-Cup mania on giant screens

Fever pitch hits the big screens, as the Great Yarmouth Borough Council announces World Cup 2006 matches will be televised on their giant seafront screens.

Families will be given a forum to enjoy the football fever of the world cup, out of their house and away from the hustle and bustle. This is a great opportunity for the whole family to enjoy the world cup, in a friendly atmosphere, where they can watch the matches in the glorious fresh air instead of sitting indoors and missing a glorious part of the summer.

The giant screens were bought as part of the InteGREAT scheme, providing free family entertainment, community information and details on attractions, events and points of interest around the borough. The World cup matches can be enjoyed by families on the sea front screens.

England’s opening 2006 World cup game against Paraguay on 10 June, kicks off the televising of the tournament on the screens. Confirmed televised matches are as attached, further televised matches will be announced in the Mercury throughout the tournament.
