Opportunity to Dispel Myths Surrounding Cremation
Bereavement service’s staff are giving the public an opportunity to dispel any myths or fears they have of cremation by taking a tour of Great Yarmouth’s Magdalen Lawn crematorium.
As well as having the opportunity to speak to staff and take a behind-the-scenes look at the facilities and equipment, there is also a chance to learn about the history of cremation throughout Britain.
Members of the public can call at the Oriel Avenue, Gorleston-on-Sea crematorium between 10am and 1pm on Sunday July 15.
In the afternoon the annual memorial service will be led by the Rural Dean the Reverend Irene Knowles, and attended by The Mayor and Mayoress of Great Yarmouth.
Because of limited space tickets are required for the 3pm service. They can be obtained from the Bereavement Services reception at the Crematorium or by sending a stamped addressed envelope by July 12, to Bereavement Services Office, Magdalen Lawn Cemetery, Oriel Avenue, Gorleston, Great Yarmouth NR31 7JJ, stating the number of tickets required.
No one will be refused entry to the service, but those with tickets will get priority to seating in the chapel.
“The service is always well attended and gives those taking part the opportunity with others who have been bereaved, to remember at this special service for them, memories of their loved ones lives in prayer, praise and reflection,” said Bereavement Services Manager, Linda Bigg.
